I founded A River in 2019, dreaming of a place where craft and collaboration, heritage and newness could flow together as one. My name is Mahak Nyati, a textile designer born in India, now weaving threads of story across continents. My journey began not with a fixed course, but with a simple curiosity, a path that unraveled into a studio shaped by the people, places, and textures that came into my life's current.

Like a river, my path is not straight. I've let the currents of different crafts—from the dance of block printing to the intricate flow of brocade—guide me. Each technique has been a lesson in patience, in finding purpose within a place.
